‘Inspirations’ is an annual event which showcases the skill and creativity of young people across York and North Yorkshire, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering and maths.
Inspirations 2011 took place on 6th July at Yorkshire Air Museum, York.
Inspirations, a Showcase event for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, is the first regional education event to feature project work from the new 14-19 Diplomas, an exciting development for the event. Formerly known as Engineering Inspirations, the change of name has come about to encourage more Science and Maths based projects to be entered into the challenge, in addition to the core Engineering and Design Technology element. As in recent years, issues of sustainability, recycling and environmental awareness will be high on the agenda of the judging panel. Projects entered will compete for individual or team prizes, which offer cash rewards, along with the trophy. The project chosen as the Overall Winner, will win the now coveted Sir George Cayley Cup, in recognition of Yorkshire's aviation pioneer, along with a cheque for £300 for their school.
For any regional manufacturing or design business looking for future talent, this is an event to look out for, as there have been some incredible projects entered in past years, many of which have market potential with the right support and backing. This is in fact the essence of the Inspirations event, to really inspire and challenge the engineers, designers and scientists of the future. Sponsorship opportunities are available to support this worthy event.
